🥚 Fresh Farm Eggs
Naturally Better. Unbeatably Fresh.
Waitrose: 6 Large Eggs – £3.95
Ours? Just £2.88 for 6 – and they’re pasture raised.
🌾 Why Pasture-Raised?
Our hens roam 10m² of lush, green pasture — every day. Compare that to:
System | Space per hen |
---|---|
🪺 Colony | 750 cm² |
🏠 Cage-Free | 1,111 cm² (250cm² litter) |
🌳 Free-Range | 1,111 cm² + 4 m² outdoors |
🌿 Organic | 1,667 cm² + 10 m² outdoors |
🌾 Pastured | 10 m², moved daily ✅ |
More space = happier hens = better eggs. You are what you eat eats.
🛡️ What Makes Them Last?
Our eggs come with their natural protective coating – called the bloom.
Grocery store eggs? Washed, processed, and stripped of protection.
That’s why ours last longer – and taste better.
🧼 Handling Tips for Peak Freshness
DON’T wash eggs until you're ready to eat them. When you do, use warm water — no soap.
🧊 Storage Guide:
Unwashed eggs:
• 2 weeks on the counter
• 3 months in the fridge
Washed eggs:
• Up to 2 months in the fridge
💡 If washing before storage, let them dry completely first!
🥄 The Float Test (Easy Freshness Check)
Fill a bowl with cold water and drop the egg in:
- ✅ Sinks flat: Super fresh
- ✅ Sinks & tilts: 1 week old
- ⚠️ Stands upright: Stale but edible
- ❌ Floats: Time to compost it!
